Please Note: Crotch Lake is a fish sanctuary from March 1st to the opening of Walleye, which is the 2nd Saturday in May. From Whitefish Rapids on the Mississippi River to Scull Island is fish sanctuary until the third Saturday in May.
Walleye (Yellow Pickerel) Regulations (Division 18):
Open Season: 2nd Sat. May to Dec. 31
Limit - Sport License: 4 in one day
Limit - Conservation License: 2 in one day
Size Restrictions: Must be between 16 inches to 19.5 inches (40 to 50 CM) - That is with the tail being pinched for max length.
WARNING: Not a hair under or over the slot size or you will be changed. If the "out of slot size" Walleye is releasable it's a $180 ticket. If the Walleye's health has been compromised or it's dead it's a $280 ticket. Keeping over the limit is $280 per Walleye in your possession. If you get caught with six walleyes that's a $1680 ticket.
Northern Pike Regulations (Division 18):
Open Season: 2nd Sat. May to Dec. 31
Limit - Sport License: 6 in one day
Limit - Conservation License: 2 in one day
Smallmouth Bass Regulations: (Division 18)
Open Season: 3rd Saturday in June to December 15th
Limit - Sport License: 6 in one day
Limit - Conservation License: 2 in one day
Largemouth Bass Regulations: (Division 18)
Open Season: 3rd Saturday in June to December 15th
Limit - Sport License: 6 in one day
Limit - Conservation License: 2 in one day
Perch (Yellow Perch) Regulations: (Division 18)
Open Season: On Crotch Lake 2nd Saturday in May to April 30
Limit - Sport License: 50 in one day
Limit - Conservation License: 25 in one day
